
The Link is the latest in a series of affordable housing developments to be constructed in Downtown San Diego. The project is located in the ever growing East Village neighborhood.
Affordable housing developer, Affirmed Housing is currently wrapping up construction on the $32.5M housing development designed by Carrier Johnson + Culture with the building expecting to open in fall 2020.
The building is a 7 story (83 FT) low-rise that comprises of 88 affordable dwelling units, of which 62 units will be for 40% or below area median income (AMI) and 24 units will be for 50% or below AMI.
In addition to the dwelling units, a multipurpose common space will be located on the ground level, each level will have a shared laundry space and 65 parking spaces will be part of The Development.

Economic impact
Total estimated cost to develop is around $32M with Affirmed paying $683,496 in development impact fees to fund new parks, fire stations and traffic circulation improvements in the downtown community plan. Approximately 91 construction jobs will be created as result of this construction.
